As a plastic injection moulding company S.B.Weston Ltd. are aware of their responsibility regarding the impact of their activities on the following:
Environment
- The manufacturing processes we undertake are non toxic, only involving raw materials considered non-harmful.
- Our own range of Weston Boxes are manufactured from a recyclable polypropylene.
- We have on-site recycling facilities, minimising our environmental impact.
Consumers
- Where required, client products are tested before production to meet legal safely requirements.
- Weston Boxes are manufactured from acid free, food grade, polypropylene.
Employees
- Regular inspections by the London Fire Brigade, electrical installation surveyors and government health and safety officers ensure the safety of our workplace.
- All plant has safety guarding and emergency stop buttons which are tested regularly.
Local Communities
- We work with Spelthorne council, segregating our waste for collection.
- Our plant in Sunbury-on-Thames is located on an industrial estate in a non residential area.
Stakeholders
- We constantly improve our manufacturing techniques and have recently increased efficiency by introducing:
- 24 hour production monday to friday reduces machine start/stop time. Heating on startup and purging on shut down can be expensive, wasteful processes and are so are minimised.
- Tooling improvements on many of our long running products, to reduce wall sections. Less material is now used in each Weston Box moulding.
- Multi cavity tooling increases the number of products produced in one machine cycle, reducing the machine hours needed to complete a job.
