Corporate Responsibility

As a UK based plastic injection moulder S.B.Weston is aware of its responsibility with regards to the impact of its activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere.

The injection moulding processes we undertake at our premises are non toxic, and only involve raw materials considered non-harmful. The moulding process itself is mainly automated with auto-stop safety devices fitted to all machines and designed to activate should any guarding be removed or tampered with. Our staff are trained to understand the potential dangers of the process if safety measures are disregarded. We pride ourselves on a great record of keeping our staff safe and up to date on current health and safety practices.

Our own range of storage boxes are manufactured from polypropylene, a recyclable material. We do not currently manufacture from 100% recycled material due to the inconsistencies which occur which disrupt the manufacturing process. Other important elements such as transparency and perceiven quality of the moulded part are also compromised when using non-virgin material.

We have facilities on-site to recycle any polypropylene scrap we produce and feed it straight back into our process. This is possible thanks to polypropylene being a thermoplastic, meaning it can be reheated and reformed many times. In this sense our boxes do contain a varying percentage of in-house recycled material and for this reason, S.B.Weston produces very little industrial waste.

Our shop floor area is kept up to date with modern efficient machinery and equipment, enabling our staff to work more quickly, efficiently and safely and in a more environmentally friendly way by using less electricity.

We have regular inspections from the London Fire Brigade, electrical installation surveyors, and general factory health and safety representatives, all of whom have passed us in their own relevant surveys.
