Our History

1948

Selwyn Weston, grandfather of current company director Reid Weston and founder of S.B.Weston Ltd. established the company’s first mould shop in Teddington, West London.

1950s

S.B.Weston Ltd. found its niche manufacturing for pharmaceutical clients – in particular ICI, manufacturing agricultural dispensing pumps of Selwyn’s design.

1960 - 1980

Selwyn’s son Tony Weston joined the company in 1962 as did David Dodman, and upon Selwyn’s death in 1967 they took over the business and maintained its steady success over the next 3 decades.

1990s

Reid Weston was appointed managing director in 1994 and went on to introduce the first box tool – the Business Card Box. This product quickly became the company’s key trade item and the starting block for a successful range of box products.

2000s

In 2001 the company moved to its current location in Sunbury-On-Thames. David’s son Chris Dodman joined the company in 2004 and began training as a CAD designer under the supervision of Tony Weston. He also began developing the WestonBoxes brand.

2010s

In 2017 Chris Dodman was appointed appointed design director. Pressure from increased demand for WestonBoxes and continuing ‘trade’ moulding commitments is relieved after acquisition of 3 new machines in March 2020.
